Death, That Struck Me When I Was Most Confiding

This poem takes place in spring, when all the flowers are in bloom, and everything in nature looks beautiful.  The speaker is talking about how she experiences a tragedy so great that she can't even enjoy the greatness of nature.  She feels guilty, and her feelings of anguish made the world winter, and it took all the flowers, leaves, and foliage with it.

Death, That Struck Me When I Was Most Confiding, by Emily Bronte.
